NEWSLETTER – SPRING, 2005

Well spring has sprung and soon we will have lovely new foals on the ground.  How we love to watch the foals and their antics.  Our first Marena foal, by Royal Show Champion Shifting, is due around 22^nd of October.

The shows started at St Ives on the 28^th August.  There are several shows that we will be doing over the next couple of months.  If you would like to know some of the dates just ask Lindy for them.  Maybe you would like to come and watch some of your friends compete.  I am sure they would love your support.

Show Success  The team of horses and riders have had a great time at the first 2 Spring Shows.

Ellie Nicholls has competed in leading rein classes before at shows, St Ives was her first time solo and what a day she had.  Ellie won Champ beginner Rider on Marena Sweet Kiss.  Sweetie also went on to win her Show Hunter class. 

Wesswood Seduction (or Jordi to her friends) won Champion small Galloway Hack at St Ives and Champion Led ASP,  Champion Led,  ANSA and 1st in the Galloway Hack at Frenchs Forest.

Marena Heartbeat won 1^st and Reserve Champion small pony.

Marena Fanfare won Reserve Champion Galloway Show Hunter AT St Ives and . Champion Show Hunter Galloway at Frenchs Forest.

Jared Ashbrooke riding his horse Marena Outback (Dusty) won their Novice Show Hunter and placed 3^rd in his rider with Nikki Melross 2^nd in the same class riding Fanfare. 

Nellie Evans won Champion Hack with her lovely mare Marena Memories at St Ives and her Show Hunter class with Thompsons Destiny (Min).  So all up the Marena team had great days with all the horses winning performances for Sydney Royal 2006 qualifications.  Well done team.

Our trip to Switzerland to Fran’s Wedding was fantastic.  It was a real Swiss country Wedding.  Fran and new husband, Lucas, walked down the road to meet us at the railway station and we all climbed aboard three mini buses and went off up the mountain.  We stopped at a very old cheese factory where we had appetifs, drinks and two year old cheese made in the factory the old way.  The wedding photos were taken with every one in summer clothes and in the back ground the snow covered mountains and a glacier.

Lessons in the Holidays

We will be having only one Three Day School during the holidays the dates are as follows   Please advise Lindy as soon as possible for enrolment as we have a limited number of horses available and I am sure you would like to ride one of your favourites.

Three Day School - Tues., Wed. and Thurs.  26^th, 27^th & 28^th September 2005 from 10.00 am until 4.00 pm.  Bring your lunch, the Shop will be open for drinks and iceblocks.  Only one school this time so make your booking early.

One Day School -   Tuesday 4^th October commencing at 10.00 am until 4.00 pm.  

Sport and Rec. - Tues. 4^th Oct.;  Wed. 13^th and Thurs. 14^th Oct, from 9 to 12 pm.

Lessons  The last lesson day will be Sat. 24^th Sept. and regular lessons will not commence again until after the holidays on Tues. 12^th Oct.   Anyone requiring lessons during the holidays should take advantage of one of the Schools or book a lesson at a time suitable.

December School - There is a problem with the dates as school breaks up very close to Christmas this year.  We are thinking of having it on Sat. 18^th, Sun. 19^th, and Monday 20^th Dec.  We would appreciate some feed back on these dates.

We are very happy with the progress of all our pupils, but don’t forget there is a lot to learn and we enjoy teaching you so that you may ride safely and well with knowledge.  As you progress you may come here for half a day on Saturdays to learn all about the care and the correct handling of horses and have a lesson as well for $55.00.  During the School holidays pupils may come for the Day.
