NEWSLETTER – Christmas, 2004

Another year is drawing to a close a year in which our pupils have been very successful at shows and lots of new people have commenced having lessons. We have several new people agisting horses here and it is nice to welcome Ruth and Sylvia, and the little Shetland, Patrick.

Sydney Royal this year was one of our most successful Royal Shows.  We won 9 Champions, including 2 Supreme Champions.  Marena Windflower won Supreme Aust. Saddle Pony and then met the Supremes of other pony breeds to be Supreme of the Supremes.

The drought has continued to cause difficulties for the stud over the last 4 years. We decided not to mate many of our mares due to the shortage of feed so will have only a few foals this year.

Our Clearance Sale has almost come to the end as horse numbers are reaching our target. A new Sale list is available with some lovely horses in it..

Jarrod and Nikki have been attending shows with Lindy since September with success. Jarrod won his first riding class and went on to be Reserve Champ. Boy Rider at Blacktown Show then Champion at French’s Forest with Nikki Reserve.  At NSW Horse of the Year in October, Nell Evans finished Top Five in her riding, Nell has had a wonderful year. Jordi, owned by Anna Scanlan has won many Champions since we have been showing her, also received a Finalist award in the Galloway of the Year.  Marena Sweet Kiss, true to her usual winning style, was runner up Show Hunter Pony of the Year, Nell with Thompson’s Destiny, who was the Champion at Sydney, and Sweet Kiss will both compete at the Grand National next March. Sweetie took many of our pupils to their wins again this year.  Lizzie Gallagher has started showing too.

Congratulations to Ashley Roberts who was champion girl rider at the recent Melbourne Royal and Amanda Reid who won her rider class
